The Coach Training offered by The NLP & Coaching Institute of California (NLPCA) was brilliant! The training model was a very thorough and effect and one, with much opportunity for the observation of demonstrations, questions, and lots of practice.

Initially the question was: Is this program worth my having to travel from Trinidad to California four times over the six month period? In the end, the answer is a resounding yes it was and more.

Tim and Kris Hallbom are fun! They are able to simplify the complex NLP techniques make them fun and easy to learn. In class, we were able to experience the techniques, first hand, which improved my learning and made class enjoyable. I was fully engaged the whole time and never bored. My impression of NLP is that the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched; they must be felt by the heart.  I thought the Coaching course from NLPCA was excellent!  I loved it and learned so much.  The course was life changing in many ways.  After taking the Coaching course from NLPCA, I am different in that I have a deep sense of gratitude; my life is filled with more laughter and a positive attitude.  I am motivated, happy and much more fulfilled.  The instructors from the Institute are outstanding, fun and interesting.  Jan Elfline’s instructions were clear and concise, which opened new doors for me to explore into a new journey of self-discovery.  I would recommend the coaching training to all ages of people who are willing to take the time, money and effort to change and grow their lives.   My hopes and desires before the class was to make a positive change from grieving the loss of my late husband.  As a professional artist it was important to me, after my loss, to recapture luminous bright colors from the dark and grey tones of my life.  To my delight, the expectations were absolutely met, because the class was exciting and a blast!  Further, before I took the training, I did not expect to love coaching as much as I do.  When you coach someone, you not only help others, you also help yourself.  It is very beautiful and fulfilling process for me.  An important learning I had was the art of taking caring of myself.  I am a retired RN and a care taker.  I have always put my family and friends first.  Now, I am truly learning the art of taking care of myself.  And, as I do this, I want to be a role model for my family.  At 79 I know that I can do this and feel great about it.  Since taking the training, I have been nominated by the Cambridge Who’s Who.  I have been named Professional of the Year for 2007-2008 representing Certified Neurological Linguistic Coach in art and health by the membership selection.  I am absolutely honored by this and feel a great sense of achievement.  Through NLP and with the help of NLPCA I have re-established my identity, changed many limiting beliefs to positive beliefs, developed freedom in my creativity and experienced artistic growth and blossomed beyond my expectations.  On a final note, Tim and Kris are both excellent instructors with extraordinary resources and experiences.  They are outstanding role models of a husband and wife duo.

The coach training from The NLP and Coaching Institute (NLPCA) was always fantastic. Even though I was coming from the East Coast, I felt like I was coming home each month. The trainers from the institute are really good. I thought they did a good job teaching the coaching in little bits and pieces, which made the class easy. The institute did a great job translating NLP into Coaching. There are many things out there that are mediocre; but NLPCA is great because they did tactfully combined NLP with coaching techniques. Because of this, the class was easy to follow, well presented and fun! The training itself offers a lot of opportunity for personal growth and I think that’s important! I would definitely recommend this training to anyone that is remotely interested in coaching. The course provides an effective and core frame work for coaching. It enables you to go to another level in all of sorts of contexts and varied environment.

Tim as an instructor is sincere, skillful, approachable, and very intelligent! My favorite part about NLPCA’s Coaching Class was meeting people from all over the country and all over the world! Besides being very skillful... I appreciated Tim’s sincerity. I like the “I’m a human being too” approach vs. the “I’m a star —look at me” approach. I really appreciated the trainers, their skill level and the years they have been practicing NLP and Coaching. As a trainer myself, I have high standards of what I expect from another trainer and I must say that Tim is incredible!  He’s knowledgeable, down to earth, warm with a great sense of humor and I just LOVE being in class with him!  Before I took The Practitioner class with NLPCA I had a tendency to be self-critical.  Now, I catch myself before I get into an un-resourceful state and use NLP tools to get myself back on track.  I am now much more in charge of how I feel and am clear about what I DO want.  In my coaching practice, I frequently use the Well-Formed Outcome questions that I learned in class.  In my personal life I have benefited from the process called “Change Personal History,” and the “Fast Phobia Technique”.  Both are really great processes because they give you the tools to have choices about who you want to be in the world.  This has been a positive experience both personally and professionally.
