Tim Hallbom is widely considered to be one of the most effective NLP trainers in the world. This is because he genuinely will assist you to learn NLP and to bring out the best in yourself. Training with very little ego, he can spot your talents and help you discover your own way of being successful. In other words, his training is about you. With his deep understanding of people, he has an uncanny way of making NLP accessible and easy to absorb. He always says that his goal is to “make complex NLP concepts and processes fun and easy, and to have people leaving the trainings being skilled and feeling smart.”
Tim has been involved in the field of NLP since 1979, and has been delivering NLP trainings throughout the world since then. Tim has always been more than a trainer. Throughout his 30 year NLP career he has consistently done therapy, coaching and consulting with individuals and organizations throughout the world. Tim specializes in helping individuals to have life changing breakthroughs, and organizations to experience fundamental improvements. This work “in the field” has enabled him to make many discoveries about human behavior and change that he would not have had if he restricted his activities to training.
He has contributed a huge body of knowledge to the field of NLP, including significant advances in working with eye cues, dealing with double binds, identifying and resolving limiting conflicts, identifying hidden communication patterns and clear and consistent ways to identify and change limiting beliefs. He helped to build models to use NLP with health issues. He also refined many of the NLP methods to impact people on the fundamental levels of health and well being, and has made impacting health issues much more elegant. He co-authored the book, Beliefs: Pathways to Health and Well-being with Robert Dilts and Suzi Smith, and created the “Graduate School” of NLP with them - the Health Certification Training Program.
Tim’s coach certification training program was the first based on NLP in North America to be approved by the international Coach Federation. He has also been awarded the prestigious Diplomate in Coaching for his contributions to that field by the International College of Behavioral Medicine. His recent book, co-authored with Nick LeForce, Coaching in the Workplace, is a comprehensive guide to coaching for managers.
Tim is well known at some of the best and most recognized NLP institutes around the globe, including International Teaching Seminars (ITS) in London, The Instituut Voor Eclectische Psychologie (IEP) in the Netherlands; and taught for years at NLPU and NLP Comprehensive. Tim has trained many highly effective NLPers who are making their mark in the world.
Tim’s own institute, which he runs with his wife and partner Kris, is the NLP Institute of California. It is the premier San Francisco/California NLP Institute that is known for its quality of training and high integrity. Tim has organized and taught over 60 NLP Practitioner Trainings at his own institutes, and has thousands of satisfied graduates. He co-developed the WealthyMind trainings with his wife, Kris, and is currently co-developing the Dynamic Spin Release material. His next book is about changing limiting beliefs.
Tim’s NLP history includes:
- Learning NLP in the 80’s from both Richard Bandler and John Grinder.
- Tim was the President of the National Association of NLP in 1990.
- He co-founded and was the President of the International Institute for the Advanced Studies in Health with Robert Dilts and Suzi Smith where today he an advisor.
- He is the co-author of NLP: The New Technology of Behavior.
- He co-founded Anchorpoint Institute with Suzi Smith and was there from 1981-1999, where in addition to training, they published the Anchor Point NLP Journal.
- Tim was a licensed Psychotherapist from 1978-1999, when he began an active coach practice that he still maintains. He offers breakthrough sessions to individuals by application.
Tim was a contributor to Alternative Medicine Now for his work with allergies, NLP and Health. Recent articles include Coach Skills for Managers (Innovative Management Magazine) and an article on ethics and coaching for Choices, a journal for professional coaches.
